Something seems to be missing in life. So, when you heard about manifestation, you were thrilled. You want to try it for yourself so that you can achieve your dreams.
The temptation is even stronger when you are down in the dumps. It does not look like things can get any worse.
So, when you hear someone talking about manifesting, there is a glimmer of hope – and that cannot be bad. Can it?
It sounds like a bit of magic, too, something that makes you feel better in the end. If you don’t end up getting rich, getting someone to fall in love with you, and being successful at something else, at least you can relax, right?
After all, the manifestation process feels like meditation. If you let go of yourself and your feelings, you can feel a lot calmer.
You are supposed to open your mind to positive things when you meditate. You let the light in and connect with the Universe.
But lately, though, you have heard the opposite can happen, too.
They say you should not indulge in manifesting because it is a doorway to negative things. The positive thoughts that you put out there are not necessarily good intentions.
After all, what is manifesting all about?
It is about focusing on the “me.” It lets you see yourself as a type of God, someone who is capable of making something out of nothing.
Think again. Is that how you look at it?
You can find so much information about manifesting in books or even for free online. Therefore, you thought, what could be so terrible about it?
Most importantly, is manifesting a sin?
Before we answer that question, let us tell you that the answer can be a little more complicated than a simple “yes” or a simple “no.”
Let us go with something a little more obvious –
Is Manifesting a person bad?
It is not wrong to wish for something that you like – but think about it. Think more deeply, especially if it has to do with another person. The other person has their own freedom. They have the right to command their own life.
So, if you manifest that person in your life, the just way is to have them decide if they want to stay with you the way you want them to. If you start controlling what they do, that is a form of witchcraft.
Manifesting the person by taking away the control they have over their life is terrible. Using positive thinking and attitude to attract a person to your life is another thing.
So, you should never mess when anyone’s independence if ever you find yourself leaning towards Manifestation.
What does Manifesting mean in the Bible?
Manifesting is considered wrong in the Bible. Why? Manifesting has a lot to do about taking control of your life, making yourself powerful enough to get what you want.
However, that also means a certain degree of power that may go against what the Bible teaches about following the will of God. It is as if you have decided to make your own destiny. It shows a certain lack of trust in God.
It also leans your way of thinking towards that of Satan. It is not to say that whatever you are doing is evil. However, Lucifer’s fall was a result of his discontent. He wanted to take control of his life. He did not want the position of being merely an angel. He wanted something grander for himself.
Not everyone who practices Manifestation has this kind of attitude, to be fair. Some just want to feel better. If you are one of them, be wary of getting out of control.
What does God say about the Law of Attraction?
While it is not wrong to want something good to happen to you, there are some limitations.
The Law of Attraction promises that positive thinking can result in positive things.
It does not sound terrible, doesn’t it? However, it also focuses too much on the self. It tells you that you alone can achieve what you want. You have the power to make anything happen.
The focus on the self is the problem with The Law of Attraction. There is an over-reliance on the self. When someone believes that they can do anything, there is a danger of forgetting God.
After all, pride cometh before the fall. The Law of Attraction also sets aside the Christian belief that we should follow God’s own timing.
If you are a Christian, you will be taught to pray for what you want in life.
Is Manifesting a bad thing?
Manifesting can be wrong because it goes against following God’s plan for you. It means taking a step further closer to the original sin.
After all, we have fallen because of pride. Rushing to get what we want can be considered going against divine grace.
Sometimes, when people feel hopeless, it is because they have retreated into themselves. Instead of resorting to prayer, they choose Manifestation.
Manifestation may not exactly be witchcraft. However, it does make you a believer of something else, a deity other than God – even if it is not Satan.
With Manifestation, you are taught to connect to the Universe. The teachings are closer to that of other religions, as it focuses on unclogging your chakras to improve your life.
When you manifest, you admit that when you seek inner peace, you do so by skipping your Christian belief. Christianity in itself cannot take away depression. However, forgetting to tap into it before diving into a different spiritual journey can be a bad thing.
Why People Believe Manifesting And The Law Of Attraction Are Bad?
So, you’ve looked at some manifestation resources. You cannot believe that they could be anything but good. If the result is good, what do you have to complain about?
However, sometimes when you ask for things without making them in Jesus Christ’s name, you attract the wrong kind of energy. You may think that you are connecting to yourself, but you may be connecting to something closer to witchcraft.
Calling upon something else other than Jesus Christ is going against God’s plan.
Okay, even if you are not Christian and do not believe in the Bible, think about it. When you put a wish out there, do you always think that it is always something good that will connect with you?
Is it always a good spirit that will help you achieve what you want? More likely, the other side will be more willing to assist, as it makes life easier for you.
Christian teachings involve sacrifice and long-suffering. The Bible has people like Job going through so many trials but still praising God in the end.
So, yes, even though you cannot find anything wrong with manifesting, you should understand why the church is against it.
The Law of Attraction also plays to your ability to get what you want for yourself. It can be a way towards negative things instead of good.
Yes, even if everything seems successful on the outside, getting your way more quickly can take away the sacrifice from you. You can get too used to getting whatever you want when you want it.
Is Manifestation A Sin?
Based on what the Bible says, it can be. It is tricky because the good book also teaches that it is good to visualize your blessings and try to do better in life.
Do you remember the Parable of the Talents? The ones who worked hard towards their goal were the ones who were rewarded. Jesus Christ also taught people to ask for what they need: “Give us this day, our daily bread…”
So, it does not seem bad to ask for good things. However, you should always keep your intentions in check.
Are you doing it to be better than everyone else?
Are you doing it for revenge?
Are you doing it because you want the easy way out?
If you say yes to one or all of the three questions above, you are in danger of making Manifestation a bad thing.
What qualifies as a sin, anyway?
At this point, we know that Manifestation can be dangerous. It can lead you to a prideful existence. It can make you greedy for more since you have been told that you can get whatever you want.
Remember the first sin? It happened in the Garden of Eden. The serpent tempts Eve to take the fruit from the tree to be as wise as God.
The same temptation is going on here. It will look attractive. Of course, sin will not come knocking looking terrible as it is. It will be something you would want. However, if you look closely, it goes against the will of God.
Do you think it is God’s will for you to be successful? Of course, God wants you to aim high and use your talents.
But does he want you to do it because you want to be better than the rest? No.
Does he want you to find easy ways to achieve your goals? No.
During Manifestation, you are connecting with something that does not care how you feel about your wishes. It can tap into your inner pride.
Pride is one of the capital sins.
Is Manifestation Dangerous?
Some people believe that Manifestation is dangerous because it exposes you to a certain degree of meditation. It is when you let your guard down and open yourself out.
Sometimes when you do this, not in prayer but wishing for what you want, you end up summoning something else. It will definitely not be God – but something else, a darker power.
Calling someone to help you and directing it to the Universe makes it prone to getting answered by other powers. They will not be powers that you want to be taking notice, at all.
Is Manifesting Against Religion?
It will have to depend on the religion. Christianity warns against the dangers of falling into the trap of Manifestation.
Christians also believe that meditation should be done only for religious purposes. For them, it should only be used to call upon God and to connect with him.
Religion teaches us patience and understanding. Manifestation teaches us the opposite, which is of taking it upon yourself to get what you want.
It can be a tricky rope because praying for something can become more intense. You need to watch how much you desire something.
If it is peace of mind and better mental health that you need, your healing does not have to be wholly religious. It is actually safer to consult a therapist instead of letting the Universe take action.
Is Manifesting the Devil’s Work?
Christians believe that manifesting is a sly way the Devil is working towards good people. It is a way for you to think that whatever you are doing is actually good, but it is not.
You are being asked to communicate with the Universe because it seems easier to accept that. In fact, you are connecting to the world.
It sounds a lot worse when you are connecting with the world. It spells it out for you: “worldly.”
Satan tempted Jesus Christ with the world’s riches and with making things a lot easier for him. Jesus set an example by repeatedly saying no. The Christian faith is about taking the road less traveled instead of taking the smoother path.
Wrap-Up
So, is Manifestation a sin?
On its own, it does not seem to be. After all, it cannot be that different from a little bit of daydreaming, does it? You simply wish for the things you want and work hard for them.
However, when you start looking at them as a triumph of yourself, your abilities, and what you have a right to – things can go downhill from there.
Pride cometh before a fall. Pride may be what is urging you to go for things you feel you deserve.
Calling on another power and going against the tenets of the church is what makes Manifestation a sin.
